Bavaria; don't forget the beer!

Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria Posted by Hello
Here's another picture from my travels in Europe. For the last section of our touring in Europe, we visited Munich, Germany. Munich is located in the southern part of the country, otherwise known as the Bavarian region. On the day that this particular picture was taken, we were taking a tour of 3 castles of King Ludwig II (the crazy king) who never finished this particular castle, slept in his master bedroom once (later was found mysteriously drowned in a lake) and managed to spend exorbitatnt amounts of his country's money on his palaces. He had built: Neuschwanstein, Herrenchiemsee (modeled after Versailles), and Linderhof. There is much to be found on this famous (and crazy king) on the web. Neuschwanstein (New Swan's Stone) was particualarly built for his favourite composer, Wagner, but alas, was never completed. Furthermore, if you ever find yourself in Germany, be sure to go on a tour to see these castles, it will be a trip you will never forget.
