Brighter Times

News of the Day:

Got a call around noon today, boss telling me that one of the girls is sick today, and that he needed me to fill in the shift. So I'm working 6:30pm to 1:30am tonight. Also got a phone call from the police constable who was dealing with my case last year. Myself, and my three other witnesses have to go and see him next week to find out what is going on in court. Also went to the mall today. Bought a birthday card for my dad (he will be 67 tomorrow); got my hair trimmed; bought a new top; and found the *perfect* wedding dress. Now to debate if I will buy it...

Notes from the Weekend

Well, as most weekends go, this one was interesting as any other.

Friday:
After much deliberation, went out to see a movie (Take the Lead) with mother and my sweetie.

Saturday:
Went to church, found out the new leadership roles in our "Young Ambassadors" Club. The results were not altogether unsurprising. Went into my hunny's workplace to pick up something for my dad's birthday. We all came home for dinner afterwards, and then later an impromptu trip to my uncle's place for the rest of the evening. Made it back home to see some people trying to steal a car. Called the cops, and all in all a pretty jolly night.

Sunday:
Spent most of the day sitting at home with a migraine (as a result of the weather). Went in to work in the evening for a night of madcap hijinks. Almost kicked someone out because of his ridiculous behaviour.

Today (Monday):
Woke up later than usual to see quite a commotion at the apartment building across from me. Apparently a man fell to his death from his 5th storey balcony. The cops were crawling all over the place for hours. Making breadsticks now.

There's finally time to read

Now that school is all done, there is finally time for me to read the books that I choose. Yesterday/ today's books of choice were: The Dante Club and Perfume. Both were vaguely reminiscent of Agatha Christie mystery stories, but were good reading, nonetheless. Over the next few weeks, I plan to do more reading to keep myself occupied.

TIme to start working

Well, I have now finished my final essay of my undergraduate career. Realizing that from here on out I have to be saving money, it is time for me to find another job. Where I am working now is not enough of an income to survive on. So I am on the job hunt again, and hopefully I will find something sooner or later that will be a more profitable venture. Since the school year is done, I think its time to go out to celebrate. Drinks anyone?

Where's the Spring?

As I am getting ready to leave this morning for my last day of class, I look outside and see the miserable, winter weather. Radio people are predicting a high of 4 degrees and snow! I guess it is still winter.
Well, the weekend was successful for all involved. Saturday evening I took my hunny out to dinner downtown, and the Leafs won a hockey game 7-0. I guess it really was April Fool's Day! Sunday was equally as good a day, my uncle's congregation loved the banner that I made, and considered it very professional-looking. I did not get any work done on the essay until Sunday night. I worked yesterday afternoon and then came home and plodded away for the next few hours. Thankfully that essay is now done, one more left and two exams.
